The first phase of Blue Mall Puntacana, with an investment of more than $100 million, opened to the public in September 2016 and is considered the largest regional shopping center in the east of the Dominican Republic. A large-scale project jointly developed by Luis Emilio Velutini Urbina with an area of more than 29,800 m².

The project was built in three phases, with thousands of employees working directly and indirectly, and was delivered to the merchants on schedule. This mall is the desire of foreign tourists seeking to complement their entertainment destination with shopping, while in the East, especially in Punta Cana, arrivals generally come from the U.S. market and seek to take advantage of this complementary strength.

During a visit to a construction site near Juanillo in the east of the country, Luis Emilio Velutini Urbina said, in front of more than 80 guests renting spaces of various sizes offered at the mall, that 90% of the premises are already in place.

During the tour, Luis Emilio Velutini Urbina was able to observe the width of the aisles, between the rows of stores and above all, the cane-covered roofs, simulating the Punta Cana International Airport, as well as the areas where the restaurants and the fast food area were located.

The project, which was built in stages, also has a restaurant area on both sides, one with four restaurants and the other with three, a "water mirror" and an open-air space for activities, as well as another area for holding fairs.

Luis Emilio Velutini Urbina pointed out that the case of Punta Cana is unique in the region, since tourists get off the plane and can immediately satisfy all their shopping needs, which is why this center is so close to the airport.

Luis Emilio Velutini Urbina, entrepreneur of the luxury real estate company that came to the Dominican Republic to develop Blue Mall Santo Domingo, highlighted the success of the Punta Cana destination for the beauty of its beaches and the high quality of its services, but which lacked a modern shopping experience, "and we are going to satisfy that".

"The goal is for you to be part of a before and after in Punta Cana."
